Day 01: IN Jakarta  

Arrival at airport SoekarnoHatta Jakarta. Here your Dutch speaking guide will meet & greet you before your transferto your hotel.

The rest of the day is at leisure to adjust to the beautiful  ‘tempodoeloe’ that rules Indonesian life.

Day 02: Jakarta 

Today you will see the different faces of Jakarta.

First you head out to Sunda Kelapa, the old harbour on the estuarine of the Ciliwung River. It was named the “coconut of Sunda” when the Sundanese Pajajaran Kingdom ruled over Java. Although the old port only accommodates phinisi schooners, traditional two-masted wooden sailing ships in the present day, Sunda Kelapa played a significant role in the city's development.

A visit to the Maritime museum will complete your knowledge of the importance of sea transportation to the archipelago.

Afterwards on to Fatahillah Square with a visit of the old Town Hall and the Monas monument, before your returnto the hotel.

Day 03: Jakarta – Bandung 

After breakfast you head for Cisarua in Bogor, where a visit to the local Taman Safari is planned.

After on to Bandung via the elevated Puncak Pass with its outstreched tea plantations.

Bandung, oft dubbed the ‘Paris of the East’,  is the capital of West Java and at 770m above sea level enjoys a fresh, cool climate.

Day 04: Bandung 

Today you explore the 1830 meters high Tangkuban Perahu volcano, which can be reached by car. After witnessing the sulphuric fumes inside the caldera, you can walk down the slopes and enjoy the scenery. 

Then on to Ciater, where you can sample the Javanese take on healthy living and take a hot bath in the pools that are filled by a nearby hot spring.

Day 05: Bandung – Pangandaran

After breakfast you depart for Pangandaran.

A lengthy stop will be made at the ancient village of Kampung Naga, whose local community actively upholds ancient traditions and still lives in an atmosphere of simplicity and environmental harmony. This sheltered village is located at the bottom of a fertile valley that benefits from the sediments of the Ciwulanriver. Visiting guests first climb down the 500 meter long stone ‘ladder’ hewn  in the wall to reach the banks of the river and the entrance to the secluded village.

Afterwards on to Penanjung Pangandaran. About eighty percent of this nature reserve is secondary rainforest and it counts the world famous Rafflesia flower among its endemic flora.

Only simple accommodation is available here, but the temporary lack of comfort is more than made up by the natural beauty of your surroundings.

Day 06: Pangandaran

After breakfast you make the small trip to the nearby Green Canyon, where you paddle your canoe  against the backdrop of impressive rock cliffs and wild vegetation.

In the afternoon you head back to the Penanjung Pangandaran peninsula for a sunset walk along its coastline. The beach is renowned as one of Java’s finest.

Day 07: PangandaranWonosobo

Today you leave the West and enter Central Java.

Along gorgeous scenery you are driven to the highlands of Wonosobo.

Day 08: Wonosobo– Borubudur

In the morning you head up to the volcanic Dieng Plateau.

After a visit of the Sikidang crater and the coloured lakes on the Plateau, you will witness the ancient remains of its Hindu temple site.

Afterwards, transfer to the Borobudur. 

The rest of the day is at leisure to take in the wonderful scenery around the majestic Plataran resort.

Day 09:Borubudur – Yogyakarta 

You rise in the early morning to visit the world famous Borobudur Buddhist site at dawn. This magical moment in the day will enhance the experience.

This monumental temple dates from the 8th century. It stands 33 meters tall, 123 meters long and is the biggest on Java.

Afterwards, at leisure until your transfer to Yogyakarta.

Optional II: dinner with Ramayana ballet performance.

Day 10: Yogyakarta

After breakfast you make a tour of Greater Yogyakarta.

First you visit the famous Prambanan temple. This Hindu temple form the 9th century was built to honour the God Shiva.

Then on to the old Keraton, the royal palace which was erected for the Sultan in 1775. A local guide will take you around the palace for explanations.

Yogyakarta is also rightly famous for its intricate craftsmanship. Before your return to the hotel we will show you both the process of making silver jewelry and Batik.

Day 11: Yogyakarta – Malang

After breakfast you take the long scenic drive to Malang.

On the way, you will visit the splendid Cobanrondo waterfall. Upon arrival, check in at the heritage hotel Tugu Malang, uniquely furnished with antiques from across the Indonesian archipelago.

Day 12: Malang – Mount Bromo 

After a tour of central Malang, where many Dutch colonial-era houses have survived, beautiful views of the surrounding mountains accompany you on the way to Tosari.

Here you arrive at the Bromo volcano to spend a short night on its slopes.

Day 13: Bromo – Ijen 

After an early morning rise we bring you up to Penajakan, the highest point reaching over 2700 meters, where temperatures can drop to 5°C, to wait for the sunrise of a new day.

As soon as the sun rises, a spectacular panorama will unfold before your eyes: Mt. Bromo, Mt. Batok and the active Mt. Semeru in the distance.

After enjoying this view you descend and cross the ‘Sea of Sand’ to the foot of the volcano. Here you can hire a horse or walk to the 250 steps that will take you to the rim of the crater.

After your return to the hotel for breakfast, we will transfer you to Licin nearby Kawah Ijen.

Day 14: Ijen 

A day at leisure to shake off the road dust and explore the possibilities for endless walks around the plantations.

Day 15: Ijen – Pemuteran 

In the morning you head up to the Merapi stratovolcano by car and jeep. 

After witnessing the manual sulphur mining inside the crater, you descend the Ijen Plateau and return to Licin for your check out from the Resort and transfer to Bali.

A 30-minute ferry crossing later you have arrived on the Island of the Gods and drive along the northern coastline to your next accommodation: the stylish JedaVilla, spectacularly located between the rugged mountains of Northwest Bali and the Bali Sea.

Day 16: Pemuteran 

Today you make the boat trip to the idyllic Menjangan island, a true paradise for snorkelers and divers alike.

Day 17: Pemuteran

A day at leisure. The mountain range behind your villa invites for long scenic walks.

Day 18: Pemuteran – Ubud

After breakfast we transfer you to Ubud. On the way we halt at the Brahmavira Arama Buddhist Monastery, the twin lakes of Buyan and Tamblingan, the Ulun Danu temple nestled in a crater lake, a traditional fruit and vegetable market in the fertile Bedugul region, and the royal temple site Taman Ayun.

Day 19: Ubud

A day at leisure. 

Ubud is Bali’s spiritual and cultural centre; opportunities abound to enjoy relaxation treatments, participate in yoga classes or purchase crafts at the town’s many art galleries.

Day 20: Ubud

Today you make a day tour to Northeast Bali with many stops.

After taking in Tegallalang’s picturesque rice terraces, you head up to the mountain village of Kintamani where you enjoy lunch with spectacular view over the Batur volcano and crater lake.

Next are the holy springs at TirtaEmpul, often dubbed the ‘Lourdes of Bali’.

Then a visit to the royal tombs of GunungKawi and the heron village of Petulu, before your return the hotel.

Day 21: Ubud

Another day at leisure.

Optional IV: Morning rafting on East Bali’s TelagaWajariver. Class 3 rapids.

Day 22: Ubud – Sanur

After breakfast you are transferred to Sanur in the bustling south.

On the way we bring you to East Bali on a tour with Dutch speaking guide. Stops will be made at Kertagosa Klungkung, Pura Besakih, Selat (picture stop for rice terrace panorama), Tirtagangga, Ujung and Kusamba for pepes and sate lilit.

Day 23-24: Sanur

Two more days at leisure to wind down and digest the many impressions of the past twenty-two days.Sanur is a laidback beach resort with plenty of excellent restaurants and cafés along its main strip Jalan Tamblingan.

Overnight at Tandjung Sari Boutique Hotel (Beachfront Bungalow).


Day 25: Sanur – OUT 

After breakfast, at leisure until transfer out for your onward flight to your next destination.
